Back to School!

The first day of classes for the new academic year will be Wednesday, August 20.  With Summer sessions finishing, the campus is gearing up for the new academic year.  Please pray for faculty, staff and students in this new year. Don't forget to listen to Dr. Chuck Kelley's chapel message on this first day of classes. MissionLab Summer 2003 Experiences Tremendous Results

Summer Youth MissionLab conducted 8 weeks of missions work during June and July.  1,477 participants from 59 different churches performed ministry and missions to 49 different mission sites throughout New Orleans. The ministry saw 254 salvations during the eight weeks, with 2 of those coming from the church groups participating.  The remaining salvations were from the mission sites. In addition, 19 from the church groups were called into mission service, and 5 into ministry. Journal of Baptist Theology and Ministry

The BCTM seeks to provide theological and ministerial resources to enrich and energize ministry in Baptist churches.  

New Acting Director for Leavell Center for Evangelism and Church Health

Dr. David Meacham is serving as Acting Director for the Leavell Center for Evangelism and Church Health. Dr. Meacham is the Director of Cecil B. Day Center of Church Planting, and serves as Nehemiah Project coordinator as Professor of Church Planting. To learn more about the Leavell Center go to: http://leavellcenter.com/ 

New Faculty Appointments 

Dr. Randy Millwood and Mr. Carl Sherrill join the faculty by presidential appointment.  Dr. Millwood returns to the faculty of NOBTS as associate professor of discipleship.  Mr. Sherrill joins the faculty as director of supervised ministry program.

The Alumni Web site is intended as a service to NOBTS Alums.  If you have an idea to enhance the on-line community which will serve our alums more effectively please let us know.  Any ideas or suggestions can be sent to alumni@nobts.edu. Upgrades being considered are Alumni Spotlight of the Month, and Eye on Alumni News Postings.  

NOBTS Alum to Lead Southeastern During Interim

Bart C. Neal, MRE '68 and EDD '81, was named interim president for Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary on July 21. Dr. Neal served on the faculty and administration at New Orleans before going to Southeastern in 1993.  To read more go to: http://www.bpnews.net/bpnews.asp?ID=16335
