Greater New Orleans Immunization Network (GNOIN)

The primary objective of the Greater New Orleans Immunization Network is to protect all children from vaccine preventable diseases. This is accomplished by raising parental awareness on the importance of timely infant immunizations, by establishing a systematic method to locate and immunize children and by providing convenient access to immunization services. An immunization registry provides a confidential, computerized record of immunizations.

The Tooth Bus (Children’s Hospital / LSU Dental School Mobile Dental Clinics)

The Tooth Bus is a community service providing free dental care to children in need. The Tooth Bus is a mobile dental office that travels to various locations throughout the New Orleans area to provide dental exams and other standard procedures to children of all ages who meet eligibility requirements.

Children’s Hospital CHAP program

Children’s Healthcare Assistance Plan (CHAP) is designed to assist families with income too high to qualify for Medicaid, but whose lack of resources limit their access to quality healthcare.

LaCHIP

LaCHIP offers low cost or no cost health care plans for uninsured Louisiana children up to age 19. Eligibility is based on family size and income. A family of 4 can earn as much as $53,000 and still qualify for LaCHIP coverage for kids. LaCHIP is a health insurance program designed to bring quality health care to currently uninsured children and youth up to the age of 19 in Louisiana. Children can qualify for coverage under LaCHIP using higher income standards than traditional Medicaid.

LaCHIP Affordable Plan is a new LaCHIP health insurance program for uninsured children in moderate income families whose income is too much to qualify for regular LaCHIP but whose gross income is below 250 percent of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). The regular LaCHIP only covers uninsured children in families with countable income up to 200 percent of the FPL.

LA MOMS

Through Medicaid, LaMOMS will pay for pregnancy-related services, delivery and care up to 60 days after the pregnancy ends including doctor visits, lab work/tests, prescription medicines and hospital care. NOBTS Family Health Clinic
The services of a Family Nurse Practitioner and clinic Medical Assistant are available at the NOBTS Clinic, for faculty, staff, students, spouses and their children. Hours of operation vary and are posted at the Clinic. Appointments should be scheduled by calling 504-816-8596. The Nurse Practitioner and medical assistant are not on call during off-duty hours.

Available services include: immunizations, physical exams, lab test, screening & monitoring, minor surgery, treatment of common chronic conditions, off-site referrals, diagnosis & management of common episodic problems, and prescription refills.
