Gary earned degrees at Southeastern Oklahoma State University (B.A. Communication) and New Orleans Seminary (M.Div.). A former sports writer, graphics editor and news editor for The Meridian (Miss.) Star, he also led BCM programs at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University before coming to NOBTS. For his Hurricane Katrina coverage, Gary received awards for writing and photography.

Gary and his wife, Kimberly, have been married since 1994. Their son Jonathan was born in 2000.

Paul earned degrees at Auburn University (B.A. Journalism) and the Birmingham School of Law (J.D.). He is currently pursuing an Master of Arts in Theology at New Orleans Seminary.

He has won more than 20 awards for writing and reporting. While a reporter for the Daily Mountain Eagle in Jasper, Ala., he was nominated by the paper for the Pulitzer Prize for coverage of the 1991 kidnapping of Carrie Lawson. He has also worked for The Virginian Pilot in Norfolk, Va.; as editor of The Kentucky Standard in Bardstown, Ky., and as managing editor of The Mississippi Press in Pascagoula, Miss. While at the Press, he helped ensure that the paper never missed a day of publication during and after Hurricane Katrina hit.

Paul and his wife, Jennifer have three children: Tucker, born in 2001; Griffin, born in 2003 and Anne Claire, born in 2006.
