The Student Wives' Fellowship
The Core Values of the seminary are Doctrinal Integrity, Spiritual Vitality, Mission Focus, Characteristic Excellence, and Servant Leadership. In keeping with these values, and bearing in mind that the student wives of today will be the minister’s wives of tomorrow, NOBTS provides crucial learning and growth opportunities for student wives. Each year five different eight-week classes are offered for student wives. The classes meet on Tuesday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Hardin Student Center. The curriculum is designed to prepare the wives for their roles in ministry. Each course is one hour of elective credit which may be applied toward a Baccalaureate Degree. Student wives may earn a Certificate of Excellence by completing six student wives courses for a total of six hours. The classes are taught by the seminary president’s wife and other faculty wives. Each instructor shares her gifts, education, and experience to train and encourage other women for their place in ministry alongside their husbands. The subject matter is prayerfully chosen to offer a variety from which student wives may choose. There is no charge to student wives for the classes. Childcare is also provided free of charge. Registration for each class is held during the first and second class meetings. Each student must submit a copy of her high school diploma or transcripts and proof of up-to-date immunizations. Any immunizations that are needed will be provided for the student wife through the seminary clinic free of charge. MeetingsStudent Wives Fellowship holds meetings once a month during the school year. The meetings include Bible study, prayer, worship, drama, and fellowship time. The meetings will often have a woman speaker, who is actively involved in the ministry, who can offer encouragement and guidance to the student wives. Childcare is provided with a minimal charge of $2.00 per child, with a maximum charge of $6.00 per family. Each year prayerful consideration is given to a theme for the year. The meetings for the year will be built around the existing theme. The student wives fellowship is designed to be a place where student wives can relate to other women walking along the same journey. Life-long friendships are developed and spiritual walks are enhanced. |
