한국어 신학교(KTI)란 무엇인가? 
What is Korean Theological Institute (KTI)?

한국어 신학교(KTI)는 뉴올리언즈 침례 신학대학원(New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary)가 한국인들을 대상으로 자신의 언어인 한국어로 공부할 수 있는 우수한 신학교육과 사역자로써의 훈련을 제공하기 위한 과정입니다. 실제로 미국 안에는 800여개 이상의 한인교회가 한인 남침례교 협의회에 소속되어 있습니다. KTI는 한국 학생들에게 정식으로 인정받는 학부와 대학원 학위를 제공합니다. KTI에서 공부하고자 하는 학생들은 다음 두 가지의 방법을 통해서 공부를 할 수 있습니다.

Korean Theological Institute (KTI) is a program of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS) to offer quality theological education and ministry training for Koreans and Korean Americans in their native language, particularly for the over 800 Korean Southern Baptist Churches represented in the Council of Korean Southern Baptist Churches in America.  KTI offers accredited undergraduate and graduate degrees for Korean students.  KTI is available to students in two ways:

• 아틀란타 강의 - 강의실에서 진행되는 KTI 과정은 아틀란타에 있는 뉴올리언즈 침례신학대학교의 한국어 과정을 통해서 가능합니다. 학생들은 저희 신학교의 아틀란타 분교에서 모임을 갖습니다. NOBTS아틀란타 분교는 조지아주(GA)의 매리에타시(Marietta)에 있는 Johnson Ferry Baptist Church 내에 있습니다. 좀 더 자세한 내용을 알기를 원하시는 분들은 아래 인터넷 링크를 확인해보시기 바랍니다. • Atlanta classes -- KTI in the classroom is available through our Korean program in Atlanta, GA, meeting at the NOBTS hub at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta, GA. • 온라인 강의 - 온라인 신학대학원 강의들은 KTI에서 새롭게 시작하는 강의들 입니다. 한국인들 중에 아틀란타에 있는 한국어 과정에 직접 참여할 수 없는 학생들에게 우수한 신학 교육을 제공하기 위해서 만들어진 강의들입니다.
• Online classes -- The online graduate classes are a new expression of KTI, making quality theological education available to those who cannot attend the Atlanta campus program.

What classes are offered?

현재로써는 세 과목들 만이 온라인을 통해서 제공되어집니다. 저희 학교에서는 가까운 기간안에 더 많은 강의들이 추가될 것을 기대하고 있습니다.

• 신약개론(Exploring the New Testament)
• 구약개론(Exploring the Old Testament)
• 초급 헬라어(Introductory Greek Grammar)

 At this time, just three classes are being offered online.  We anticipate adding more classes in the future.

• Exploring the New Testament (a survey of the New Testament Scriptures)
• Exploring the Old Testament (a survey of the Old Testament Scriptures)
• Introductory Greek Grammar (learning New Testament Greek)

강의들은 언제 시작해서 언제 끝이 납니까?
When do the classes begin and end?

• 2009년 가을학기 강의들은 2009년 8월 24일에 시작해서 2009년 12월 17일에 강의를 마칩니다.

*모든 온라인 강의들은 각 학기가 시작하는 첫번째 주에 강의를 소개하고 학생들을 확인하는 시간을 가지게 될 것입니다. 이 주간에 학교의 서무과(Business Office)에서 학생들의 학교계좌를 확인하고 등록을 최종적으로 마치게 됩니다. 이 주간에 학생들과 교수들은 서로 의견을 교환할 수 있습니다.

*All Internet courses will have an Introduction and Student Verification Week at the beginning of each semester. During this week students and professors can interact while the Business Office verifies student accounts and finalizes registrations.

Are the classes accredited?

• 예. NOBTS는 SACS(the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools)에 가입되어 있으며, 학부(B.A.), 대학원(Graduate), 박사(Ph.D.) 학위들을 제공할 수 있는 공식인가된 학교입니다. NOBTS 에서 수여하는 모든 신학대학원 학위들은 ATS(the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada)에 의해서 인정을 받습니다.
• Yes. NOBTS is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of SACS (the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) to award baccalaureate, graduate, and doctoral degrees. All graduate theological degrees at NOBTS are accredited by ATS (the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada).

온라인강의들을통해서얻은학점들은신학대학원(M.Div.)  과정으로인정을받을수있습니까?
Can the online classes count toward a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree?

• 예, 모든 강의들은 KTI를 통해서 신학대학원(M.Div.) 과정의 학점으로 인정받게 됩니다. 또한 다른 신학교들로부터 학점을 인정받는 것도 가능합니다.

• Yes, the courses count in the Master of Divinity (M.Div.) program through Korean Theological Institute. It is also eligible for transfer to other institutions.

온라인 과정을 통해서 정식 학위를 받을 수 있습니까? 
Can I earn my entire degree online?

• 아니오, 현재로서는 학위를 줄 수 있는 공식적인 기준에 미치지 못합니다. 그러나, 현재 제공되어지는 온라인 한국어 강의들을 통해서 공식적인 한국어 성서연구 수료증(Korean Biblical Languages Certificate)를 받을 수 있습니다.

           초급 히브리어(Introductory Hebrew Grammar) -- 3 hours
           히브리어 원전석의(Hebrew Exegesis) -- 2-3 hours

          16-18 credit hours 학점

• No, accreditation standards do not permit us to offer the entire M.Div. online at this time. However, these classes will all count toward an accredited online Korean Biblical Studies certificate requiring 16-18 academic credit hours.

온라인 강의들은 다른 기관들로 학점 전환이 가능합니까?    
Can the online classes be transferred to another institution?

• 예, 현재 강의들은 신뢰할 수 있는 공인된 학점들을 제공하며 이수한 학점들은 다른 학교로 전환이 가능합니다. 그러나, 일반적으로 다른 기관에서 이수한 학점들을 인정해주는 것은 학점 전환을 요구받은 기관의 결정에 달려있습니다.
• Yes, the courses are accredited and transferable. However, as in all cases, accepting transfer of credits is the right of the institution receiving the transferred courses.

학비는 얼마입니까?  
How much is the tuition?

• 한 시간 학점당 미화 180불입니다. 여기에 온라인 비용(Internet Fee)으로 학점당 미화 70불이 첨부가 됩니다. 따라서, 3학점의 강의를 수강하는 경우에 총 765불의 학비를 내야만 합니다.
• $180 per credit hour, plus $75 per credit hour internet fee (USD). A 3-hour class is thus a total of $765.

입학을 위해서 토플 점수를 제출해야 합니까? 
Is a TOEFL score required for admission?

• 아니오, 모든 KTI의 온라인 강의들이 한국어로 진행되기 때문에 토플 점수는 필요하지 않습니다.
• No, because all KTI online classes are in the Korean language.

등록을 하려면 어떻게 해야 합니까? 
How do I register?

• 등록서류를 모두 작성하시고, 학부 성적표와 함께 저희 신학교(NOBTS)로 보내주시면 됩니다. 특별히 수강하는 과목을 정식 학점으로 인정받기를 원하는 학생은 입학서류를 모두 작성하고 학부(B.A.)를 마쳤음을 증명할 수 있는 성적표와 함께 제출해야 합니다. 도움이 필요한 분은 KTI에 문의하시기 바랍니다.

• Fill in the registration form and send in your college transcript to NOBTS. You cannot receive credit for the course until the application form and transcript (to demonstrate college graduation) have been submitted. Contact KTI for help.
