Applying for Housing

Application Requirements and Information:

Once you are academically approved and in good standing with the Business Office, you are eligible to apply for housing. Only full-time students are eligible to live on campus: 12 hours for undergraduates and 9 hours for graduates. Housing is assigned on a first-come/first-serve basis. While we take your preferences into consideration, we cannot guarantee that your requests will be fulfilled. Depending on availability, housing assignment letters are sent no less than one month prior to your check-in date.

Housing assignments will not be made for requests less than 30 days.

Housing Applications:

Singles Housing- Undergraduate Application*

*Single Undergraduate Students: All incoming, unmarried Leavell College students who are under the age of 21 will be required to live on campus and in the designated dorms of Lipsey Hall (male) and Carey Hall (female) until the time that they turn 21 years of age.

Exemptions may be requested and reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Students who may be eligible to receive a residence requirement exemption include, but are not limited to:

  • Students who live with their parents or legal guardian at a residence within 30 miles of campus
  • Students who have dependents
  • Students with certified medical needs or conditions
  • Students who are 20 years of age with 60 or more credit hours

If you would like to be considered for a housing exemption please fill out the exemption form. No assignment other than a dorm will be considered unless you have received approval from the Dean of Student's office for an exemption.

Transfer Housing Assignment: 

Due to the high volume of incoming students during summer months and between semesters, transfers will be available for current students from September-October and February-April in the order that they are received. In some circumstances, a transfer may be applied during the other months of the year with approval from the Housing Director.

Intent to Vacate Forms:

Before leaving campus, every resident needs to notify our office about the intent to vacate. Once an vacating form is filled out, our office will email you the move-out check list in response of your request to vacate. Failure to notify the housing office by the required notice days will result in forfeiting your deposit back.

Residents must verify forwarding address and return all keys to the housing office during regular hours. If you vacate during off hours, please return the keys and fill out a Check Out Form at the guard house or the key box outside the housing office.

If you are vacating due to a ministry position or a family emergency, the notification time may be waived.

Check Out Form: To be completed when keys are returned. Failure to return keys in a timely manner may result in additional rent charges and/or key replacement charges. Key charges are $125 plus $10 for each key that needs to be replaced.
