Dr. Delio DelRio Jr. graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry from Leavell College in 2004. After completing his undergraduate degree, Dr. DelRio subsequently earned three advanced degrees (M.Div., Th.M., and Ph.D.) from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS). In 2013, he published his first monograph: Paul and the Synagogue: Romans and the Isaiah Targum. Currently, Dr. DelRio serves as the Senior Pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Brandon, Florida and as an Assistant Professor of New Testament and as the Extension Center Regional Dean of North/Central Florida for NOBTS.

For Dr. DelRio, Leavell College holds a special place in his life. He explained, “Leavell College was the first introduction to the academic environment, and my time as a Leavell College student developed in my passion for academic pursuits of God’s Word. Leavell College’s expectations for quality work and assistance with research and writing provided me with the tools that I needed to thrive in the higher demands of graduate work.” In addition to the academic emphasis, Leavell College provided an important practical aspect for ministry. “My time as a Leavell College student helped me to understand that Gospel impact was about more than just possessing Bible knowledge. I also had to obtain and sharpen interpersonal relationship and ministry skills. The ability to lead and disciple others in the Gospel was focused upon as a preparation for ministry.” To the prospective Leavell College student, he encourages, “Seriously consider Leavell College for your ministry and educational preparation. The quality environment and personal investment of the faculty will provide you with a valuable step toward ministry preparation and further graduate-level work.”
