Nelson Hsieh grew up in Los Angeles, California, and came to faith in Jesus Christ as a freshman in college through the evangelistic efforts and expository preaching of Evangel Bible Church. He served as a youth pastor for two years in Southern California, before completing doctoral work at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, and post-doctoral work at Tyndale House in Cambridge, England.
Nelson's research interests are in New Testament textual criticism, manuscripts, and how textual variation and manuscripts illuminate the message of the Bible. Nelson’s blog (“Bring the parchments”) has a list of his popular and academic writings.
Nelson and his wife (Hannah) have three children and are members of Immanuel Community Church in New Orleans, LA.
