Bio

Ian Jones’s areas of research interest include historical pastoral counseling and biblical foundations for Christian counseling. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Approved Supervisor, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Approved Supervisor, and a Clinical Fellow in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. He serves as the Executive Director of the Board of Christian Professional & Pastoral Counselors (BCPPC), International Board of Christian Care (IBCC), and as director of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) Biblical Counseling and Spiritual Formation Network (BCSFN) and editor of the BCSFN Transformation newsletter. He has taught, counseled and presented at family and counseling conferences in the U.S.A., Mexico, Costa Rica, Malaysia, Taiwan, Korea, and Australia. He is the author of The Counsel of Heaven on Earth: Foundations for Biblical Christian Counseling, in addition to chapters in books and numerous articles. He has received the Outstanding Alumnus Award from the School of Community Service at the University of North Texas, the AACC Gary R. Collins Award for Academic Excellence in Christian Counseling, and the Outstanding Research Professor Award for Excellence at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

He and his wife Linda have two children and six grandchildren.
