Bio

Hal Stewart’s research has focused on Church Leadership and Discipleship. He examined how exemplary leadership characteristics affected church worship and small group growth in churches in Georgia. Hal is a life-long educator with decades of experience in church ministry administration and discipleship, K-12 education, and Christian higher education. He is originally from South Carolina and has lived in Kenya (East Africa), North Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Florida. He currently serves as executive pastor and headmaster at Church at the Cross in Orlando, Fl. He’s a former IMB missionary, science teacher, coach, athletic director, and assistant high school principal. He’s been married to Julie for 26 years and has three children. He’s co-edited the book Together We Equip (Westbow Publishing, 2018), which is an exploration of local church ministry leadership and discipleship. He has also contributed to Parenting Teens magazine, Small Church Excellent Ministry, and Becoming an MVP in Disciplemaking.
