Missionary Scholarship Requirements and Information

 

NOBTS is happy to provide a tuition and fee scholarship for students currently involved in missionary work and their children. The missionary scholarship supplies different awards for different categories of applicants. Please see those categories listed below to know what requirements are needed for your particular circumstance.

 

  1. Current IMB/NAMB Personnel (Undergraduate and Graduate):
  • The missionary scholarship provides a scholarship for 50% of tuition and fees and is available for any undergraduate degree through a first master’s degree at Leavell College and NOBTS. Certificate programs also qualify.
  • Applicants must be fully-funded, full-time, field-assignment (IMB) or stateside (NAMB) personnel. 
  • Recipients can receive this scholarship regardless of the regular qualifying hours requirement. 
  • Recipients can be at-distance or on-campus students. 
  • Recipients must resubmit a verification of employment letter from the IMB or NAMB annually.
  • Recipients will be responsible for paying any charges that may be incurred as a result of any removal of the scholarship, including any withdrawals.
  • Students who have a break of a semester or more in their enrollment will be required to reapply for the scholarship.

 

  1. Current IMB/NAMB Personnel (Doctoral):
  • The missionary scholarship provides a scholarship for 30% of tuition and fees for doctoral students.
  • Applicants must be currently serving a full-time field assignment or stateside assignment. 
  • Recipients must be degree-seeking students. 
  • Recipients can be at-distance or on-campus students.
  • Recipients must resubmit a verification of employment letter from the IMB or NAMB annually.
  • Recipients will be responsible for paying any charges that may be incurred as a result of any removal of the scholarship, including any withdrawals.
  • Students who have a break of a semester or more in their enrollment will be required to reapply for the scholarship.

 

  1. Returning Journeyman/ISC Missionaries:
  • The missionary scholarship provides a scholarship for 50% of tuition and fees and is available for any undergraduate degree through a first master’s degree at Leavell College or NOBTS.
  • Recipients must be degree-seeking students. Certificate programs do not qualify for the missionary scholarship. 
  • Recipients must meet the qualifying hours requirement. 
    • 12 hours undergraduate; 9 hours graduate
  • Applicants must enroll within 2 years of return from completed assignment with the IMB or NAMB.
  • Applicants must have completed their entire term assignment with the IMB or NAMB.
  • Applicants must have intentions to return to missionary service upon graduation.
  • Recipients will be responsible for paying any charges that may be incurred as a result of any removal of the scholarship, including any withdrawals.
  • Students who have a break of a semester or more in their enrollment will be required to reapply for the scholarship.

 

  1. Children of IMB or NAMB missionaries:
  • The missionary scholarship provides a scholarship for 100% of tuition and fees and is available for any undergraduate degree through a first master’s degree at Leavell College or NOBTS.
    • Children of retired full-time IMB or NAMB personnel will receive a 25% scholarship on tuition and fees.
  • The applicant’s parents must be fully-funded, full-time, field-assignment personnel. 
  • Recipients must be degree-seeking students. Certificate programs do not qualify for the missionary scholarship.
  • Recipients must meet the qualifying hours requirement. 
    • 12 hours undergraduate; 9 hours graduate
  • Applicants must be 30 years of age or younger
  • NOBTS institutional scholarships can only cover up to the total amount of a student’s tuition and fees costs. 
  • Recipients must resubmit a verification of employment letter from the IMB or NAMB annually.
  • Recipients will be responsible for paying any charges that may be incurred as a result of any removal of the scholarship, including any withdrawals.
  • Students who have a break of a semester or more in their enrollment will be required to reapply for the scholarship.
