How would you like to spend a week in Indianapolis this summer learning to share the gospel and getting academic credit for it? If so, register for EVAN5300 Evangelism for NOBTS graduate students or LCCF2350 Introduction to Evangelism for Leavell College students listed on the Summer 2024 Course Schedules. The graduate course will be taught by Dr. Preston Nix, Professor of Evangelism and Evangelistic Preaching and Director of the Leavell Center for Evangelism and Church Health. The undergraduate course will be taught by Dr. Jeffrey Farmer, Professor of Church Ministry and Evangelism and Associate Director of the Caskey Center for Church Excellence.
This summer our school will be participating in Crossover Indianapolis 2024 in cooperation with the North American Mission Board and the Crossroads Baptist Association of churches in the greater Indianapolis area along with the other SBC seminaries. The classes will take place Monday through Friday, June 3-7, 2024. The Crossover experience includes morning class/training sessions, afternoon evangelism opportunities, and evening worship services. You will need to arrive in Indianapolis on Sunday, June 2. The classes will conclude with Crossover events in Indianapolis area churches on Saturday, June 8. Since you are not required to participate in the Crossover events, you will be free to travel back home on Saturday morning.
NAMB will pay for your room and meals for the week. You will need money for your Sunday evening meal and the Thursday evening meal at a restaurant in the city. You will need to register for the class, and you will be responsible for the course tuition. When you register for the class, you automatically will be put on the rooming list. You will need to book your own flight to Indianapolis from where you live. A stipend for travel expenses covering most or all of your travel costs to Indianapolis will be available.
If you are interested in taking advantage of this special opportunity and need more information, contact either Dr. Nix (pnix@nobts.edu) concerning the Crossover graduate course or Dr. Farmer (jfarmer@nobts.edu) concerning the Crossover undergraduate course. Register for the class by May 2 to get on the rooming list and to book your flight in advance to Indianapolis. An email containing the syllabus and details of the class as well as the trip to Indianapolis will be forthcoming after you enroll in the Crossover course.
