Jim Henry Leadership Institute Chooses First Leadership Ph.D. Research Assistant

The Jim Henry Leadership Institute at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary is pleased to announce that Abioye Tela has been named as the first Leadership Ph.D. Research Assistant for the Institute. 

Abioye Tela, a Ph.D. senior residency student in Christian Leadership at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, will serve as Research Assistant for the Jim Henry Leadership Institute.  Dr. Tela received the Doctor of Ministry in May 2021 and the Master of Theology in December 2023 from NOBTS.  He is the recipient of the Bart and Edith Neal Fellowship in Christian Leadership.  Prior to his academic pursuit in the United States, Dr. Tela studied Business Administration and Missiology and served as a pastor and denominational leader in Lagos, Nigeria.    

As Research Assistant for the JHLI, Dr. Tela will begin his research work in the area of pastoral tenure.    

 

JHLI adds Second Research Assistant to Study Impacts and Concerns Regarding Bi/Co-Vocational Pastors

Dr. Steve Dunn, Associational Missionary for Bethlehem and Pine Barren Baptist Associations  in Southwest AL, began serving in August 2024 as a Research Assistant for the Jim Henry Leadership Institute at NOBTS. Since 1992, Dr. Dunn has pastored five different churches, and he received his Doctor of Educational Ministry from NOBTS in 2013. 

As a Research Assistant for the JHLI, Dr. Dunn is in early stages of resource and data collection for the Bi/Co-Vocational Pastors Research Project.
