Offices Closed and Class Meetings Cancelled: Tuesday, January 21, 2025 - All offices will be closed and class meetings will be cancelled on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in preparation of impending winter weather. Primarily online courses (traditional online, mentoring, Prepare Here Weekend Hybrids) will proceed as normal. A decision concerning Wednesday, January 22nd will be forthcoming in the upcoming days.
Be advised that the seminary has no emergency shelters on campus but has made arrangements for sheltering as listed below:
If you need a place for shelter, the following locations are prepared to receive Seminary families in the event of a mandatory evacuation (If you choose to evacuate to a shelter on this list, please call the contact number for the shelter and apprise them of your coming, and bring your own bedding supplies):
• Camp Garaywa (300 beds): 312 Camp Garaywa Rd, Clinton, MS 39056. Contact: Roddy Reed at 601.924.7034 (office) or 601.214.2102 (cell). (Directions: Take I-10W to I-55N. At I-20 Exit 44, bear LEFT on to I-20 [US-49]; At I-20 Exit 35, turn LEFT on to Clinton Raymond Rd; Proceed 1/2 mile and turn LEFT on to Camp Garaywa Rd).
• Louisiana Baptist Children's Home (Can host 12 people): 7200 Desiard St, Monroe, LA 71203. Contact: (318) 343-2244. In case of emergency, if more than 12 people are in need of assistance, they can open up their gym. Contact them to inquire about availability before going.
• FBC Fairhope: The church could house 10-15 students for a limited time. There are no showers at the facility. Adress: 300 S Section St Fairhope, AL 36532. Contact: Brent Shaw, (251) 928-8685.
