Professional Licensure Disclosure Statements

NOBTS counseling degree programs are designed as licensure-track programs and meet state requirements for licensing in most states. The educational requirements for licensing are set by the individual states, so state requirements vary. Please consult with your academic advisor or the Director of Clinical Training about state requirements for licensing in the state where you intend to practice.

NOTES:

  • License titles and scope of practice vary by state.
  • All states require post-degree clinical supervision. The exact number of hours required varies from state to state.
  • The clinical practicum and internship portion of all degrees can be tailored to meet specific license requirements as needed. Please check the website of your state to ensure compliance with practicum and internship requirements.

In accordance with federal requirements and as a member of the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement participating institution, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS) provides public and direct Professional Licensure Disclosure Statements. Academic program leaders who operate units that offer education programs that may be reasonably assumed to lead to professional licensure, certification, or endorsement are responsible for determining whether its curriculum meets the state educational requirements for professional licensure or certification in states where their students are located and for maintaining the accuracy of this information, which the Seminary is required to publish as part of its disclosure of student consumer information.

For academic programs that may reasonably be assumed to lead to professional licensure, these disclosures indicate, as of December 2023, the states where the Seminary has determined through reasonable, good faith effort that each listed program:

  • Complies with the applicable professional licensure education requirements.
  • Do not comply with the applicable professional licensure education requirements or
  • Has currently undetermined status regarding compliance with the applicable professional licensure education requirements.

Successful completion of a program may be part of the process of qualifying you for a professional license or certification in the pertinent field. Professional licensure or certification often requires one or more of the following: additional education, examination, experience, or training beyond the program offered by the seminary.  Following is a list states and applicable programs that apply to federal disclosure requirements.
