EdD students are best described as scholar-practitioners, integrating academic research with the application of acquired learning. 

 

The EdD is the perfect degree for educational professionals in undergraduate Christian and community colleges, private school headmasters, administrators, teachers, or ministry practitioners with a desire to teach.

Purpose and Goals

The  purpose of the Doctor of Education degree is to equip individuals for denominational or interdenominational leadership positions in the field of religious education or teaching.
The  goals for this degree include mastery of educational disciplines, graduate-level understanding of theological disciplines, and capacity to engage in administration, teaching, and research.

Live out of Town?

Required Seminars usually meet four Fridays during the semester in a two-year cycle. All elective and required seminars are available to distant students through our NOLA2U system. You can attend class from your computer at home or office. However, at this time required workshops for the EdD degree are hosted on campus.
